Sensei Kelvin Quah

Sensei Kelvin Quah has been training in Martial Arts since he was 14 years old. In 1986 he went to watch the Singapore All Martial Art Demonstration at the Gay World Stadium. He was immediately inspire by the demonstration perform by the Kyokushin Karate, breaking a baseball bat by the shin.

Since then at the young age of 16 years, he started training at the Orchard Dojo, under the close guidance of Sensei Jackie Chong. ( Currently Shihan Jackie Chong )  He proceeds to gain his grading while he was there. With his endurance and hard work, it pays off relatively and gain his Shodan ( 1st degree black belt ) in December 1989.

In 1990 he was in his National Service duty whereby he was involved with the Naval Diver which requires lot of perseverance, commitment and endurance. He managed to go through his National Service with flying colours as the physical and mental training that he had gone through in his karate training has equipped him with pure spiritual mindset to conquer the tough endurance training at the Naval Diving Unit.

He had competed in numerous tournaments in his younger days and was the 2nd runners up in the 1996’s Asia Selection Tournament. 

Sensei Kelvin is currently the main instructor at the Nee Soon South Community Club and Thomson Community Club.
Assist training at the Kolam Ayer Community Club. He continues to train and upgrade himself under the supervision of Shian Patrick Teo.

Currently Sensei Kelvin holds a Nidan ( 2nd Dan Black Belt ) and also a certified IKO (International Karate Organization) Associate Judge.
